Commercial Cleaning First 30 Days Plan

A first-month cleaning plan turns an accepted proposal into a controlled start. Confirm readiness before the first visit, review early observations and resolve remaining decisions before settling into the recurring schedule.

What must be ready before the first cleaning visit?

The accepted scope, access authorization, supplies and responsible contacts must be ready before a visit is released to start. Give each unresolved item an owner and a confirmation date; a proposed start date alone is not evidence of readiness.

The published CIMS 2023 framework calls for site-specific cleaning requirements. This first-month plan is an original worksheet, not a certification process. Use the provider switching guide for the outgoing-service transition, then track the incoming program here.

What should the first few visits establish?

The first visits should test whether the agreed inventory and working window match the actual site. Record inaccessible desks, unexpected room use, missing consumables and different surface conditions without silently changing the task list.

Keep initial recovery work separate from routine upkeep. If inherited residue needs a project clean, record that decision rather than judging every later visit against an unresolved starting condition. Use the inspection record to distinguish work reviewed from work merely reported complete.

What could a first-month review sequence look like?

A practical sequence can place readiness before start, an early check after initial visits and a decision review near the end of the first month. Dates are chosen with the site, not imposed as universal service levels.

Synthetic example: a three-visit weekly office confirms access before Monday, reviews its first Wednesday visit and checks unresolved issues at the end of weeks two and four. A locked meeting room stays pending until authorization is resolved. The example does not promise perfect service after 30 days or establish a free trial.

Which changes need approval during mobilization?

Changes to task quantities, frequency, access or price need a recorded decision through the agreed approval process. Correcting a misunderstood room count and adding an entirely new room are different requests; preserve what changed and why.

Use the scope change record to show proposed and accepted versions. Keep the temporary arrangement and its end date explicit so a short-term workaround does not become an indefinite promise.

When is the program ready for ongoing review?

The program is ready for ongoing review when the site has an accepted baseline, a workable schedule and named owners for any remaining exceptions. An open item can carry forward; it should not disappear because the first month ended.

Bring the readiness sheet to a walkthrough discussion with YEG commercial cleaners. The closed-hours program supports one to seven agreed weekly visits; the first-month plan helps turn that scope into dates and responsibilities. Move continuing decisions into the service review agenda.
