Office Breakroom Cleaning Scope Checklist

A breakroom cleaning scope separates accessible surfaces and appliance exteriors from dishes, stored food, appliance interiors and maintenance. Name the included tasks and who prepares the room so the cleaning visit can address the agreed surfaces.

Which breakroom surfaces should the scope name?

Name counters, sinks, tables, accessible cabinet fronts, appliance exteriors, bins and floor areas individually. Record exclusions such as appliance interiors, cupboards with personal items or surfaces that staff must clear first.

The office checklist identifies the room; this worksheet defines its detailed handoffs. A kitchenette inclusion should not silently authorize emptying a refrigerator, washing personal dishes or servicing an appliance. Separate those decisions before comparing proposals.

A breakroom layout separates accessible counters, sink, floor and agreed surfaces from food, personal items and appliance interiors requiring separate instructions.
Room preparation, routine cleaning and separately approved work have different owners and boundaries. A breakroom layout separates accessible counters, sink, floor and agreed surfaces from food, personal items and appliance interiors requiring separate instructions. Open full-size diagram.

Who handles food, dishes and personal items before cleaning?

The site should name who clears personal items, handles stored food and prepares the surfaces for the agreed task. Record what the cleaner should do when a sink or counter remains occupied; do not assume authority to discard food or move labelled property.

Synthetic example: a staff contact clears the shared table before the evening visit, while the agreed cleaner task covers the accessible table surface and appliance exteriors. Refrigerator contents remain with staff. If preparation is incomplete, the record identifies the unavailable task rather than an entire-room pass.

Which product instructions matter around food-contact surfaces?

The applicable product label and surface instructions determine whether a proposed product and method fit the task. Health Canada’s biocide labelling guidance addresses directions for use, including product-dependent rinsing and contact conditions.

Record the exact product reference and required site procedure; do not assume one disinfectant instruction applies to every counter or food-contact surface. This office breakroom scope is not a commercial food-production protocol, a restaurant kitchen sanitation plan or evidence of an infection-control outcome.

What needs a separate owner while the breakroom is in use?

Assign the site’s response to spills, overflowing bins, dish accumulation and stock shortages between contracted visits. Closed-hours cleaning does not provide continuous occupied-hour coverage.

Use the stock planner for agreed consumable responsibilities and the weekly schedule for actual visits. YEG commercial cleaners does not offer daytime porter service; changing room use may require a revised scope, a different visit frequency or an internal daytime arrangement.

How should appliance interiors or extra detail work be added?

Describe the proposed component, preparation, permitted method and acceptance condition separately, then confirm access and price. Cleaning an exterior does not establish permission to unplug, disassemble or repair an appliance.

Record any addition through the scope change request and bring the completed room sheet to a walkthrough. The recurring program can then specify what happens on each agreed visit, while periodic or unusual work remains a visible separate decision.
