Interior Glass Cleaning Measurement Worksheet

An interior glass worksheet records each pane, the faces included in the task and the conditions affecting access. A visible pane count is not enough when dimensions, coated faces or restricted sides differ.

What should be counted in an interior glass scope?

Record pane IDs, width, height, unit and included faces, then list frames, sills, tracks or hardware as separate scope decisions. A partition can have two accessible faces; a window task may cover only the interior face.

Use the commercial window cleaning scope to identify the requested work. Do not let a room’s floor area stand in for its glass quantity. Mark an inaccessible face as excluded or unresolved rather than counting it as automatically included.

A glass pane has measured width and height; face area is multiplied by the number of included faces, with material and access limits recorded separately.
Glass-face area counts only the included sides; dimensions alone do not approve a cleaning method. A glass pane has measured width and height; face area is multiplied by the number of included faces, with material and access limits recorded separately. Open full-size diagram.

How do you calculate the included glass area?

For a rectangular pane, multiply width by height to obtain one-face area, then multiply by the number of included faces. Use a consistent unit and repeat the calculation for panes with different dimensions.

Synthetic example: four panes, each 3 ft wide and 7 ft high, with both faces included, produce 4 × 3 × 7 × 2 = 168 sq ft of glass-face area. One included face produces 84 sq ft. These are illustrative quantities, not a cleaning rate or a measured customer site. Irregular shapes need their own agreed measurement method.

Why do coatings and films need their own record?

Record known coatings, applied film and product guidance because an apparently similar glass surface can have different cleaning restrictions. Vitro’s TD-142 glass-care guidance distinguishes glass and exposed-coating conditions and warns against inappropriate abrasive treatment.

That document applies to its stated glazing context; it does not approve a method for every aftermarket film or partition. Confirm the actual product instructions. This measurement worksheet supplies no scraper, solvent or stain-removal procedure and does not authorize work at height.

Which access conditions should accompany the dimensions?

Record height, furniture or partitions obstructing access, permitted working areas and any fragile adjacent finishes. Name which side can be reached during the approved closed-hours window.

Use the walkthrough inventory to identify constraints and the access plan to confirm authorization. A measured upper pane remains an unresolved task until a suitable authorized method is agreed; its area alone does not make it ordinary reachable cleaning.

How does the worksheet support a glass-cleaning quote?

Send measured quantities with included faces, exclusions, material records and access questions. Separate glass-face work from frames or an initial residue-removal project so prices describe the same scope.

The labour-hours guide explains why quantity needs an applicable timing before it can become a budget. Bring the worksheet to YEG commercial cleaners through a walkthrough request, then connect accepted recurring tasks to the after-hours program. No per-pane tariff is inferred here.
